Today, I ll be talking to you about love, but I won’t just be talking in term’s of God’s unconditional, undiluted, unfeigned love which is Agape love but in terms of love the way the world knows it.

Love expresses itself in a variety of ways and in the context of Christianity and specifically marriage, one of such ways is sex.
So sex should not be confused with love and love is not sex, but one of the ways through which love can be expressed is sex.
This is why a man can have sex with a woman who he does not love. The ladies are easily exploited by this, thinking that because he wants to have sex he loves her but that is not always the case.
A man who loves a woman will cherish her, support her dreams, help her succeed and he ll boldly present her to the world as the woman he loves.
As important as sex is in a marriage and in solidifying the union between a couple, there are other means through which couples can show their love for each other; other than sex: such as caring for each other, giving a helping hand, communicating and supporting each other through thick and thin.
So this Valentine which is the lovers day, show that you care and remember that sex is not love.
Even in marriage, a man must do more than have sex with his wife to show that he loves her; he should be romantic, be gentle towards her, communicate often, respect her, buy her gifts, pray with her etc.
The wife on her part should submit to her husband and respect him. She should dress well and look attractive.
Marriages today are under a lot of attack because the enemy knows the significance of marriage, he knows that when a Christian couple unite together in marriage, they can achieve far more together than they could as individuals. Deuteronomy 32:30
The bible describes the love between Jesus and the church just like the love between a husband and wife, which means that God sees the love between a husband and his wife as an expression of the love he has for us .
The husband and his wife start a family which presents a unique opportunity for new members to be added into God’s kingdom.
However, for a couple to love each other, then at least one of them needs to know and experience the unconditional love of God.
When a couple has the love of Christ, it’ll be easy for them to love each other and forgive each other; because when the challenges of life come, you would need the unconditional love of God to keep you standing, unshaken and unmovable; firmly secured in God’s love.
So this Valentine, if you haven’t experienced the love of God, make Jesus your Lord and Saviour.
