Job 22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. 22:22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
The scripture above encourages us to acquaint ourselves with the Lord, this is not just saying: my husband is a pastor or my wife is a minister so they ll pray to God for me. Rather, this is getting to know the Lord for yourself, just like how you get to know a person.
It is a great privilege to know that as great and as powerful as our God is, he delights to have a personal relationship with each of us. He does not want you to rely on anyone to pray for you, he wants you to pray to him yourself and praise him yourself, because he desires a personal relationship with you. This is why he sent Jesus to us so that we can get to know the Lord for ourselves and when Jesus died for us, God made us his sons and daughters by sending his holy spirit to dwell in us. Praise God!
One of the ways we can get to know the Lord is by receiving his word in our hearts; when we go to church, study the scriptures, we are receiving his word in our hearts, and the more we do this, we are laying up the word in our hearts. Hallelujah!
The first step to getting acquainted with the Lord is by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you have not done this , I encourage you to do this now, Ask the Lord to come into your heart today, forgive you of your sins and make you his child.
